An active Bunch every month

More than 11 million Australians spend an average of 8 hours a day in the workplace1 and unfortunately most of that time is spent sitting down.

We’re actively taking a stand by encouraging our team at Bunch to embrace a ‘jaunt’ around the block as a collective around 3pm, at least once or twice a week to top off our lunchtime jaunts. That bit of fresh air and movement helps boost our productivity at a time when most of us suffer from the late afternoon slump. It can be as simple as a 10 minute stroll. We make sure we block that time out away from our desk to free our minds and just breathe. Once we’re back we’re definitely more focused!

Here’s some other ways we’re making sure sitting doesn’t become the new smoking:

  • Standing desks
  • Table tennis fun
  • Standing room only at our alignment meetings
  • Walking meetings
  • Soft cushioned pews on our desk returns so you can pop over to ask a question and chat instead of sending an email
  • Eat away from your desk!

These small but significant adjustments to our work life can go a long way in terms of improving our mental health.
